Picture[edit]

Can we possibly get a picture for the aircraft? I put it on the Main Page right now, and I would like to get a possible picture of either the aircraft or the scene of the crash (if possible). Nishkid64 19:51, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok - here you go. Note that the reg number matches what is held in the main article. I'm not registered, nor do I wish to be, so I shall not be uploading it. It is also not my image. However, if you can get permission, it should be a good picture choice for now.

We can probably do it without permision - until a crash scene image emerges it should qualify for fair use, rather like the image i used on Surinam Airways Flight PY764 - Blood red sandman 20:35, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Survivors[edit]

Survivors? Isn't this virtually unheard-of? Or not, I don't really know. 62.30.229.43 20:40, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It really depends what happened. If, for example, it nosedived, or broke up midair, then yes, survivors would be rare. But actually in many major air crashes there are a few survivors. Blood red sandman 20:45, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that unheard of. "In the US alone, between 1983 and 2000, there were 568 plane crashes. Out of the collective 53,487 people onboard, 51,207 survived." I guess things would be different in an LEDC though. Loserdog3000 20:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The most important thing to consider is that not many crashes are considered national/international news. It's less common with such crashes, but there's usually a handful. - Blood red sandman 20:52, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are usually a number of more people who survive the actual impact of the craft landing, but will die from smoke inhallation, fire, drowning, injuries or whatever. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shadowrun (talkcontribs).
