I think we should redirect this to Athlon64. Any takers?the1physicist 02:34, 30 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. The K8 is used in a number of processors, only one of which is the Athlon 64. --Doradus 13:28, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

K8 is not the same as Athlon 64

[edit]

I'm going to change this redirect back into a stub unless there are objections. --Doradus 14:02, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply. PLEASE DO change this redirection back to a stub. In fact lets fill it out properly as the K8 microarchitecture. It is really stupid that K8 redirects to Athlon64 when it is the Opteron processor that first brought out K8 (on 21-April-2003). Athlon64 based K8's did not come out until much later. Not to mention Turion which is also based on the K8 uArch. --Dr unix (talk) 02:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, K8 seems to apply to all of the following: Opteron, Athlon 64, Sempron, Turion 64, Athlon 64 X2, Turion 64 X2. --Ransom (--67.91.216.67 (talk) 17:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I also agree that this should have its own article. This previous revision might be a good starting point for a stub. Letdorf (talk) 14:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]
