Error about submarine docking place

[edit]

The article states:

"The crew abandoned the listing submarine at the jetty at King Edward Point on South Georgia and surrendered, along with the Argentine garrison, to the British forces.[6][7]"

This is incorrect, the submarine was infact abandoned at a jetty at Grytviken not King Edward point. 2.217.150.216 (talk) 17:37, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you can provide a cite that would help. Wee Curry Monster talk 22:47, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was asked for a citation regarding my assertion that the Santa Fe was abandoned at Grytviken, not King Edward Point. Page 172 of Cindy Buxtons book "Survival: South Atlantic" (ISBN 0-246-12087-8) shows a photograph of the damaged submarine with the caption "The Argentinian Santa Fe grounded and tied up to the jetty of the old whaling station at Grytviken". The photograph shows the whaling station decaying factory buildings behind and unless this is a clever shot with a telephoto lens it convincingly looks like Grytviken to me.
I should add that on page 173 there is a picture of troops and buildings with the caption "Some Royal Marines at Grytviken after the retaking of South Georgia." which looks more like King Edward point than Grytviken to me so it is possible there is a mix up even here.
If I come across any further sources of information on this topic I will provide further citations. 90.201.61.5 (talk) 17:17, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
