Billy Preston

There's not much evidence at all to say Billy Preston even played on the album, let alone played it's most iconic song almost by himself (Gettin Nasty). It's a bit of an urban myth - he played some keyboard on the album as a session player, but I've seen nothing at all to suggest he did anything more.

Truth is, Ike Turner was a more famous pianist than Preston at that time. Billy was making a living as a session player back then, playing organ for the Beatles and The Stones. I seriously doubt Ike's (probably the most respected blues/r+b pianist of the decade) giving a major piano lead to a session organ player

Preston wasn't playing piano lead on any albums until the mid 1970s. At this time, he was a mere session player. And not even a pianist. Playing the organ
