"...her cover was the song's first English-language recording." Braxton herself never recorded the song I suppose?

  • Correct, Braxton performed the song several times and some bootleg recordings of her singing the song live exist on the internet, but she never made a professional recording.--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"... The Reel Critic believes "A Change in Me" was added as a means of further empowering Belle,[1] improving upon her dimension as a character." We of course know why the song was added, because Rice swilled back a bit too much during dinner with Braxton. That just makes the phrasing here awkward. It so happens that the song has the effect described by The Reel Critic, but that isn't really why it was added.

  • Got it. I added this to the "Context" section instead because it really speaks about the way in which the song is used in the musical.--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

""A Change in Me" is considered to be among the musical's original songs that both advance its storyline and provide character development..." Are there any songs that don't one of these two things if not both?

  • Sure. I don't have a source at the moment, but, as a show-stopping piece, "Be Our Guest" doesn't really progresses the storyline or develop specific characters (it does add some minimal background information to the enchanted objects and gives Belle a chance to get to know them a little better).--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not that they need to go per se, but there are some obscure newspapers being cited here: Alaska Dispatch News, Lodi News-Sentinel, and most of all the Delphi Community High School Parnassus. Certainly a high school paper shouldn't be placed on the same plane as Columbus Dispatch or the Houston Chronicle.

  • Well they may not be as famous The New York Times, but I would argue that the Dispatch News is hardly obscure (it's won a few Pulitzer Prizes, as far as I'm aware), while the Sentinel has been an established paper since the late 1880s. I've removed the high school paper though; that one slipped me.--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Ok very well, can't say I knew that about the Dispatch News. If they're aren't clippings available from more recognizable papers that alright, I'm just used to seeing the big-name publications in the review sections of high-profile entertainment like this.

We have a song inbox for the Egan recording, what about the various cast recordings, do they get infoboxes or no? I'm not quite sure of the protocol for that

  • I don't believe it's necessary for the other recordings to get infoboxes; Egan kind of "earned" one because her version, despite being a cover, was the first (and for a long while only) English recording of the song. Additionally, unlike future performers she originated the role of Belle in 1994.--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Despite these things that need fixing, an excellent and very comprehensive article overall. Nice work! QatarStarsLeague (talk) 18:56, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. I've made some changes, and am currently awaiting for verdict :-)--Changedforbetter (talk) 19:44, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • And a wonderful job in responding to the points I raised. This one passes. QatarStarsLeague (talk) 02:40, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
