Reversal of plot changes[edit]

I have reverted recent good faith changes to the previous plot text because:

  • The statement that the Dutch ship is "beset by a shipboard epidemic of fever" appears incorrect;
  • The statement that the Dutch captain is "also suffering from delirium" appears incorrect. He is simply a bound prisoner trying to free himself;
  • The "British frigate" is actually described as "a Royal Navy cutter";
  • "Piracy is also a hanging offence" is incorrect. The statement is made in court that this is no longer the case i.e. the pirates would have escaped execution had it had been established that none of them were involved in the killing of the Dutch captain. Disagree on the ending[edit]

I changed nothing, but I just saw the movie and disagree with the way the court scene is described: "Emily blames Chavez for killing the Dutch captain". I don't think this is the case, Emily just states that Chavez was in the cabin, also that he had a knife. Also says that the death of the Dutch captain was awful, but she never said the first killed the second. Of course that is what the interrogator wants every one to believe. Interestingly in the page for the book with the same title it is clearly stated that Emily did not blame Chavez directly.

If no one disagrees I will change this point in some weeks. zeycus (talk) 00:15, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
