Clouseau's arrest?

[edit]

Shouldn't the article reference the fact that there's no canonical reference to Clouseau's arrest at the end of The Pink Panther after he was framed by Sir Charles? At the end of the first film, all of France believed Clouseau was The Phantom, yet A Shot In The Dark make no reference to this. Shouldn't this be mentioned in the article? Contradiction?

[edit]

This article appears to contradict the "Return of the Pink Panther" article regarding Sellers' exaggerated accent, the latter of which states that he plays it straight for the first two films.

There's the very beginning of it with the pronunciation of "moths", which I believe was an improvisation by Sellers that Edwards went with. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) (talk / cont) 00:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Explanation

[edit]

Okay, my wife and I watched the film, and now we are very confused about who did it, and why. Could somebody make a chart showing which murders were committed by which characters, and what their motivation was? Thanks!

Everybody did it, except one, who was a blackmailer. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) (talk / cont) 00:26, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ending

[edit]

It's stated throughout the article that the killers and Maurice were merely wounded after boarding the inspector's car which then blew up off screen. But is there any actual evidence of this as opposed to them all dying? Thanks. --Sephiroth9611 (talk) 02:06, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is evidently wishful thinking on the part of a rather persistent editor. Clouzot and Dreyfus certainly assume they are dead and no evidence to the contrary is shown. Kostaki mou (talk) 19:45, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pierre, "another murderer"?

[edit]

Whom does he murder? All the murders in the film are accounted for by others. (This error, if it is one, is made in the film itself.) Kostaki mou (talk) 22:56, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Pink Panther Series"

[edit]

The introduction says the film is "the second installment in The Pink Panther series". I can't agree with that at all. The plot has nothing to do with the "Pink Panther" Diamond and the "Pink Panther" animated character does not appear in the opening titles. If anything this is the second installment in an "Inspector Clouseau" series of films. If anyone has been calling it a "Pink Panther series", 1964 was not the time to call it that. --BjKa (talk) 12:02, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Was Dreyfus demoted?

[edit]

Herbert Lom was well-known for playing Clouseau's nemesis, Charles Dreyfus. In "A Shot in the Dark", Dreyfus was the commissioner. In "The Return of the Pink Panther", his title was "chief inspector", and he was shown taking orders from the commissioner. Was Dreyfus demoted? Or does this come under the heading of "things you're not supposed to notice"? 67.45.114.55 (talk) 20:51, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
