This website no longer supports this conclusion, as note is blank on the Metropolitan Museum of Art website which says: "This information may change as the result of ongoing research." Question: is this still considered painted by Vermeer? owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art? Retrieved 24 February 2010.
I believe there's still debate about this painting. I'll try and look into the current state of scholarly opiniobn sometime soon.Jimi 66 (talk) 12:55, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to have gone from the Met's website because it's no longer on display there. The Essential Vermeer website lists it as being in a 'private collection'. Scholarly opinion seems still to be broadly in favour of Vermeer as the painter.Jimi 66 (talk) 13:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
