This article is not a direct copy http://www.wwvets.com/WW1_Buffalo_Soldiers.asp as identified by MadmanBot. The original source was from a museum display at the Indiana War Memorial, which was cited. I typed in the original text in notepad and pasted it to start the original article. There are significant changes and additions to the original source. The webpage noted above copies the museum display verbatim, which is why there initially appeared to be a copyright issue. ...And since the bulk of the article thus far is his DSC citation, which was not in the article linked above and which is a government document in the public domain, the article couldn't be subject to the copyright restrictions identified by MadmanBot. Hi! Do you have any evidence that the text in the Museum display is in the public domain? The second paragraph of the article seems to be the main issue as that is replicated verbatim on the Buffalo Soldier's website. Is that the text from the Museum? The problem is that we have to assume that copied texts are copyright (see WP:COPYOTHERS) unless a) they are from a known PD source b) they are expressly licensed for reuse under a license compatible with Wikipedia or c) permission has been granted by the copyright holder. Alternatively you could rewrite that paragraph in your own words and remove the issue.--CharlieDelta (talk) 06:52, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would do it. The issue seems to be from "He enlisted in the US Army..." to "...92nd Infantry Division", which is a too close paraphrase of the War memorial text. The dates and the regimental details obviously can't/shouldn't change but if you could express the point in your own words, that should resolve the issue.--CharlieDelta (talk) 22:57, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
