Evolution of the Abakada alphabet

[edit]

This edit to the Filipino language article cought my eye, and caused me to look at "Ebolusyon ng Alpabetong Filipino". Retrieved June 22, 2010., which is cited there. I'm not literate in aTagalog/Filipino, but I looked at the Ebolusyon ng Wikang Pambansa section there with the help of ;Google Translate. There, there is a description of the evolution of the Abakada alphabet:

  • 1940: a b k d e g h i I m n ng o p r s t u w y
  • 1941: a b c ch d e f g h i j k 1 11 m n ñ ng o p q r rr s t u v w x v z
  • In connection with the revision of the Constitution: a b c d e f g h i j k I m n ñ ng o p q r s t u v w x y z
  • 2001: adding/liberalizing (?) c, f, j, ñ, q, v , x, z
  • August, 2007: release of the National Language Orthography draft
  • End of 2007: scheduled release-by date for final version of the guide

Presuming that this is a reliable source, it seems to me that this info ought to be included in the article. Also, it seems to me that this info needs updating. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 14:29, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
