Proposed changes[edit]

Introductory/Lead section The contents work, but the cited source [1] has no direct information about J-PAL; it's only mentioned in reference to Glennerster, the writer of the article, who was J-PAL's Executive Director at the time. Instead, cite https://www.povertyactionlab.org/about-j-pal instead.

Infobox

Activities section Organize existing content into three subheadings that represent J-PAL's three pillars of work:

Research

Policy (https://www.povertyactionlab.org/about-j-pal)

  • Distilling results from evaluations into insights for policymakers
  • Partnership building with governments and NGOs for evidence use

Capacity building

Structure section

Partnerships section

  • Place first paragraph about IPA under a subheading titled "Relationship with IPA"
  • Last paragraph: Update using https://www.povertyactionlab.org/partners. "Partners include implementing organizations like governments, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and businesses who run programs that J-PAL affiliated professors evaluate, use policy lessons from research, and scale up programs that are proven effective; donors including foundations and bilateral organizations who provide funding for evaluations, scale-ups, and research initiatives; and research centers and organizations that run the randomized evaluations of J-PAL affiliated professors, including the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California, Berkeley, the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP), the Crime Lab at the University of Chicago, Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) at Harvard Kennedy School, and IFMR Lead."

Experiments and findings in India section

  • Remove section. J-PAL's work is global; only highlighting studies from a particular country or region implies otherwise.
  • Instead, add a "Policy Influence" section, reflecting J-PAL's new focus on evidence use and scaling

Policy Influence 540 million people reached through policies and programs evaluated by J-PAL affiliates. Examples of case studies of policy influence found here: https://www.povertyactionlab.org/evidence-policy.

@198.90.112.65: Your edit request needs to be accompanied with reliable third party sources. Primary sources such as the company web site cannot be used, since you can write anything you want on a site controlled by you, and therefore the info is considered unreliable. Please see WP:RS. This can be a challenge, but the basic gist is that if the info doesn't appear somewhere independently, it's not notable enough to be included. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 00:03, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Timtempleton, we need non-primary sources, so I am declining your request. You can resubmit, if you can find 3rd party sources. Samanthany (talk) 00:30, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
