Too much given to trial
[edit]The article is weighted too much to the trial, with little context given. The bio portion of the article does not even mention that he participated in the war, and had nothing about his political career before I added his current position in the party. It is still a bio, and deserves satisfaction of criteria for those articles. There needs to be something about his life between his getting a law degree and going on trial in 2011.Parkwells (talk) 21:19, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- Have noticed this and am making efforts to redress this balance. It's difficult to find good sources though. Applesandapples (talk) 02:22, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- Apple, You have removed a large portion of this article without any discussion here, I don't think that is WP:Good faith edit. the deff is here. Which almost remove his war crime involvement from lead!--FreemesM (talk) 06:58, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why are you accusing me of editing in bad faith? There was not "no discussion", but anyway, the intro was far too large and far too disproportionately weighted towards the trial. The relevant information is all there, including the war crimes conviction, which has not been "almost removed". And I'm afraid the reaction section was full of dross, really long-winded and focused on Shahbag rather than Molla, so that was trimmed. If you want to improve this article, improve it, but do not impede other people who are genuinely trying to do so. I will reinstate my changes. Applesandapples (talk) 15:46, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

- Parkwells, do you have a source on him getting a law degree? Because this [1] while obviously not a reliable source, doesn't mention law as his subject. Applesandapples (talk) 03:02, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I get the impression that he was a journalist after graduating, especially along with that Bangladesh National Press Club stuff. Applesandapples (talk) 03:22, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- Struck gold! [2] looks like he wasn't a lawyer at all. Will add information to the article. Applesandapples (talk) 05:44, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

- I have taken the undue weight tag off the article now, as I think it is fairly balanced now. Ideally, there would be more substance in the career section though. Applesandapples (talk) 06:56, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Do not remove War criminal info
[edit]Apple, continuously you are trying to remove war criminal conviction info from this article. Please don't do that. Amar dersh is a Pro-Jamaat] newspaper. please provide another source to prove AQM as journalist, I cant found any other source about his journalist career.--FreemesM (talk) 19:21, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Not removing conviction info in the article, just streamlined the article. You'd do well to convince me that Amar Desh is a bad source for this article. If Amar Desh is unreliable, then there is no unreliable mass media source in Bangladesh. All the mainstream newspapers there can be seen to have bias one way or the other. Applesandapples (talk) 21:03, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- You streamlined it by removing a great deal of cited information regarding his war crimes, you even removed "Butcher of Mirpur". Darkness Shines (talk) 21:38, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- Apple, let me know which source rather than Amar desh says he was journalist? And another point does streamlined means removal of sourced contents? Do not revert it.--FreemesM (talk) 05:44, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- By "even removed 'Butcher of Mirpur'", you mean I removed a paragraph quote which I think was symptomatic of the undue weight of the article. And Freemesm, I found a newspaper source which tells us some things about Molla's career. If you know something I don't (you seem to be sceptical that he is a journalist), then you can go and find a source which shows that he isn't, instead of sitting back and sniping about the newspaper. Applesandapples (talk) 09:06, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- Read WP:UNDUE again, you have obviously failed to grasp it. It most certainly does not mean whitewash an article. But let us see, Shahbag protesters versus the Butcher of Mirpur (The Guardian) Himalayan and Central Asian Studies: Journal of Himalayan Research - Volume 7 P 67 Calls him the Butcher of Mirpur. BBC Dawn BBC again The Indy So no you may not remove that fact, ever. Darkness Shines (talk) 17:06, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- A&a, you know you have no consensus for your changes yet as soon as protection expires you are back edit warring to your preferred version, get consensus. Darkness Shines (talk) 05:45, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- This is rubbish. You seem to think that I need consensus for my changes (which involved finding and translating sources and plenty of copy editing), while you need no consensus at all to press one button and undo all the work. Applesandapples (talk) 05:55, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- You need consensus to remove the content you have removed, as I pointed out above. Darkness Shines (talk) 05:58, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- You can just as well say that you need consensus to remove the content you removed. And you need consensus to keep the content you want in the article. Applesandapples (talk) 06:01, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Applesandapples, you can not just remove the cited contents without discussing them in the talk page and without the consensus of the other editors. It seems like you are intentionally trying to remove the charges against Mollah or divert them just as you are trying to do the same for other convicted war criminals. Vortex Shedding (talk) 06:39, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- The charges are there for all the world to see in my version of the article, which also includes information on his career which you keep on removing. It's as if you think this man vanished in 1972 and came back in 2010. This is what Parkwells was saying about undue weight. I did not remove charges, but I removed full blown quotes with POV non-source boldface and a lot of hot air about Shahbag which does not belong in this article. Please change the following line in the second paragraph of the lede from "A member of the Al-Badar militia during the liberation war, Mollah was convicted of killing 344 civilians and other crimes" To "A member of the Al-Badr militia during the liberation war, Mollah was convicted of killing 344 civilians, decapitating a poet and the rape of an 11 year old girl.[1] Darkness Shines (talk) 17:27, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Reader feedback: His Photograph and war crime...
[edit]103.242.217.74 posted this comment on 2013 December 12 (view all feedback).
His Photograph and war crimes activities should be added in this article.
Can we do that now? His photos are easy to find all over the internet, and if we ask a news organization like BDNews24, I'm sure they'll let us use photos. Also, there is plenty of info on the war crimes committed so it shouldn't be too difficult to write. The only thing I'm worried about is possible trolling from religious activists. Reader feedback: Impartiality and credibility... | Assisted by Citation bot r454
[edit]92.18.26.161 posted this comment on 12 December 2013 (view all feedback).
Impartiality and credibility of this article is very much questionable as there is no mention of the controversies of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT). While Tahmina Anam's article has been listed as a reference but David Bergman, a prominent journalist of The New Age, and like is nowhere mentioned, this is really a one sided article. David Bergman (please see his blog) strongly refuted Tahmina's article lacking any logic and evidence to associate Mollah to those atrocities. While EU and UN are strongly questioning the credibility of such a tribunal and clearly indicating that its judicial process is grossly manipulated by the ruling Awami Leage government, by publishing this one sided article Wikipedia's neutrality will be seriously harmed.

Reader feedback: Unfortunately the article is seriously biased one.

Unfortunately the article is seriously biased one. All you have quoted are mainly some one-eyed reporting from Bangladeshi partisan embedded journalists and Tahmina anam. You even don't bother to quote David Bergman who indeed is the most eloquent and academically sound observer and researcher in this issue. You don't utter a word about the extremely flawed trial over which all the human rights organizations expressed their concerns and asked to halt the execution and demand for a free and fair trial observing international standards. You have avoided the controversial testimony based on which Mr. Molla has been executed. Even the information Mr. Molla barred from putting forward a proper defense is not present here at all! You should investigate through all this. At least you can check out the statements issued by the UN Human Rights and Amnesty International and see what you learn. Please go through the link: http://bangladeshwarcrimes.blogspot.com/2013/12/mollas-impending-execution.html
- Bergmans blog cannot be cited as it is junk, information on the trials goes into the article on them. Darkness Shines (talk) 15:54, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Reaction from MCB and ICNA
[edit]This article mentions reactions about the verdict of Molla from Muslim Council of Britain(MCB) and Islamic Circle of North America(ICNA). However, these cannot be seen as Chowdhury Mueen-uddin, a convicted war criminal by the same tribunal, was a founder of MCB and Ashrafuzzaman Khan, another convicted war criminal by the same tribunal, is a general secretary of ICNA. Hence, I have added these information about MCB and ICNA in the article. --Kaisernahid (talk) 13:36, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
