Given that Starkey's death occurred in 1827 and no new information appeared within "living memory" (i.e. 1907) it can be assumed that variations in the last half of the 20th century are speculative whereas the details contained in Phelps 1844 and reprinted 1860 serve as the best history of the fatal escape. Searching through the Starkey lineage through a 1910 publication yields a possible identity - an Abel Starkey was born on February 21, 1767. Given the information known, it is highly unlikely to be the same Abel Starkey. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 16:29, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
