Regarding your edit to Abune Antonios[edit]

You are "editing" in a manner akin to a vandal. It would be helpful if you were to add a summary to your additions. This topic can now classified as a "revert war" as there have been more than three reversions in one day. As I stated in my summary to previous reversions, please provide references. As this is a contentious issue present both sides of the argument (referenced as well). --Merhawie 23:28, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Merhawi
According to the church canons a sitting Patriarch can’t depose with out any due process.

Since that process is not established we can not honor the verdict of one person’s accuser, judge and jury system. The name of the Holy Synod may be used to cover the evilness but that is not true. Would you pleas refer to the Church canons. We don’t follow blind leads blind.

Thank you! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eritewahdo (talkcontribs).
Thank you for responding to my suggestions. Wikipedia should be considered descriptive not presriptive. Wikipedia compels us to write about the situation, not comment on them. That is why I reminded you about the NPOV policy of Wikipedia. NPOV means neutral point of view, it does not mean that we do not discuss (in article) controversies, but rather than we discuss all (not just two) perspectives on the controversies. Thank you for your attention and we appreciate all new editors. Also, be sure to sign your edits on talk pages using the following: --~~~~ Furthermore, in a situation like this, please refrain from further edits on the topic until it has been resolved in that article's talk page. Merhawi, NPOV means neutral point of view, so, tell me how is yours natural? When you using one side of the story! “the Holy Synod is responsible for designating the Patriarch.” Isn’t that is your interpretation of the situation. I am responding according to the current situation based on the Church laws. I am not going to sit idle while unjustified only opinionated one side is written on the Eritrean Orthodox Church. I urge you to referring from unnecessary church matters. The patriarch is for life unless violated the three conditions specified by H.H. in the letter. Do not bring curses to your self.

Dear Merhaw,

I believe you are playing with fire! The church canons is clear to the office of patriarch. Until this is resolved we can not say “Abune Antonios was a third patriarch”. The verdict is not over! The process has to go to the sister oriental orthodox churches. Mr. Demetros and the Members of The Holy Synod can not be accusers and judges at the same time. Also to the case of abune Deoskoros is only a bishop of Seraye as of now. To be patriarch he has to go through a process. Check the ceremony of anointing of Abune Antonios in the Google link. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8117935108417498837&q=eritrean&hl=en

First of all my name is Merhawie (there is an "i" and an "e"). Second of all this conversation will continue on the talk page of the Abune. --Merhawie 19:26, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Second of all, that is why if you looked at the text of my edit, I note that there is dispute. Furthermore I also put up a contentious issue template. I see there is no appeasing you and that you and that you are closed to compromise. --Merhawie 19:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear whoever it is that isn't signing their posts

Merhawie has a point. You are free to make corrections so long as they are based on facts which you can back up. This isn't a political arena or is it a place for you to give your point of view. Nadeana 23:49, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral point of view and sources[edit]

Hello all,

I think a huge help to keeping this article to a neutral point of view would be to only include information that you've found in a reliable source (Wikipedia:Reliable sources), present only what is found in those sources without additional interpretation etc, and then to cite the sources. Hope this idea helps. Sancho McCann 06:44, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The majority of this article was original research and I've removed a great deal of it. If you intend to add the material back in, please make sure to provide reliable sources. This is a biography of a living person so we must be careful when adding potentially contentious material. Justin chat 20:25, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for government opposition?[edit]

Is there any information as to why the government wanted him removed? Was he involved in a policy dispute with the government?Bill (talk) 00:45, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
