Split into two articles[edit]

My personal opinion is that there should be one article for the Cantata for the University Graduation Ceremonies of 1894 and a second article for the Cantata for the University Graduation Ceremonies of 1897. ~ Silence of Järvenpää 01:11, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thank you for starting those excellent Sibelius articles, and your work on templates, etc. On the subject of splitting Academic cantatas, have you read WP:PROSPLIT? Proposing the split in a discussion might be the best course. I love music, but am probably too ignorant of musicology to contribute to the discussion, apart from on a practical level of actually moving the content around. Thank you, @Wikishovel for your help on this! I will look into the WP:PROSPLIT instructions you provided me to review. This is a situation that refers to two distinct, unrelated compositions, even if the composer wrote them for similar purposes three years apart (i.e., the University of Helsinki encaenia in 1894 and 1897). My sense is that when @Gerda Arendt created the common article, they were doing so as part of the Sibelius-articles-expansion-effort that took place on occasion of the composer's 150th anniversary in 2015 ... kind of quick elimination of redlinks kind of thing.
