The article states that the ground was used for winter storage for Chipperfield's Circus. Is there a source for this as it seems a little odd that elephants would be kept in the dugouts due to the size of them (I appreciate that animals are looked after now better than they used to be). Also lions monkeys and snakes being kept on the pitch? Seems an odd arrangement when football is a winter sport. Did they have to move them before every game? I agree. The idea of elephants in the dugout is commically absurd. I have deleted the paragraph.

he club played in the Football League between 1921 and 1962
So, how did they do apart from the resigning due to financial reasons? One source listed them as one of England top flight teams, and that would be worth mentioning, so I guess they actually never did that. 88.114.246.209 (talk) 21:19, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, apparently there was a third Accrington besides the two Stanleys: Accrington F.C., and they ere 6th in the second season of English league football. 88.114.246.209 (talk) 21:22, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stanley[edit]

What is that part of their name derived from? I think it needs a mention. Old Aylesburian (talk) 09:13, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
