Talk:Ada Lovelace Day

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page has been a redirect to a footnote on Ada Lovelace since 2010.

Since then the Day has grown year by year, with 1200+ links within wikipedia and many mentions, as well as official recognition and extensive reporting.

I propose expanding it to a standalone page, so it can document this more clearly, and it can sit alongside other science events like Darwin Day and Yuri's Night

Hello Angus Woof thank you for making Ada Lovelace Day a Redirect with Possibilities. A group of us are at an Ada Lovelace Day Editathon in Canada, and we have made a page. So we will put it up and would welcome your and Kevin Marks inputs to expanding and improving it. Dawnbazely (talk) 18:12, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We have created an Ada Lovelace Day article at the annual ALD editathon: https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Zoom/Ada_Lovelace_Day_Wikipedia_and_Wikidata_Women_in_Science_Edit-a-thon_(November_3,_2022)/articles/available Dawnbazely (talk) 18:21, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've went ahead and accepted the article. Please add a lead paragraph explaining what it is. Also on the talk page if you are associated with the founder or the association in a coordinating or supervisory capacity, you may need to disclose COI. If you're just a participant in the edit-a-thon, then you can judge for yourself whether you have COI on this. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 19:25, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that future editing to this page take inspiration fro how Darwin Day and other science event pages are structured. Dawnbazely (talk) 19:25, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Saying hi[edit]

I saw this being discussed on Twitter. Nice work Dawn. I removed one of the templates by creating a lede. I see no evidence of POV - the wiki editathon predates your interest I think. As the template says "might", yep "might" be COI. But it HAS been declared and it is NOT affecting the article as far as I can see. Victuallers (talk) 10:36, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
