Height[edit]

Rather than continual deleting of his referenced height if any other info on this is available please provide it. --Egghead06 (talk) 13:49, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be better to have no height listed, than to list a height that is clearly wrong (although well referenced). It happens all the time with young sportpeople, that their listed height hasn't been updated since they began competing. (look at some of the heights listed on the normally reliable soccerbase for example). Looking at a couple of images Gemili appears to be of a slightly smaller height than Chambers [1] [2] 5,11 although obviously photographs of people in motion are not reliable sources. Maybe someone with an account could try asking him on Twitter? --Kafuffle (talk) 14:42, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is not how Wikipedia works. We do not include true information, but verified information, regardless of whether you think it is true or not. Besides, the sources for Gemili's height and weight aren't years old, they're from the 2012 Olympics. --bender235 (talk) 22:45, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but surely there must be something in the guidelines about not including info that's clearly bull, regardless of if it's sourced. Watching the London Anniversary Games, on the start line standing up Gemili was only an inch or so shorter than Harry Aikines-Aryeety who himself is 5'11. No way in hell is he only 5'5. The Olympic profile might have been published in 2012 but that doesn't say anything about when the height was taken from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Allthestrongbowintheworld (talkcontribs) 01:05, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Two sources were cited for both height and weight, and they each gave wildly different values. I've commented both for now until we establish which is correct. Jackmcbarn (talk) 23:07, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Both sources initially gave exactly the same values. Only recently telegraph.co.uk changed it. Whether the new values are correct or not, I don't know. --bender235 (talk) 06:39, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a photo of Gemili (far right) next to Jake Stein and Alessia Trost. He seems far closer to 5-5 than to 6 ft. --bender235 (talk) 11:05, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alessia Trost is 6'2. A 3 inches difference between them looks right, not 9. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Allthestrongbowintheworld (talkcontribs) 12:00, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
