Still Superior of Caymen Islands?
[edit]Is Cardinal Maida still the Superior of Caymen Islands? It seems odd that he'd be replaced as Archbishop of Detroit, but not as the Superior of the mission sui iuris. However, none of the news I've read, nor the blurb from the VIS, has mentioned the Caymen Islands at all. Anyone have further information? Gentgeen (talk) 15:53, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Archbishop of Detroit
[edit]From the Detroit News article, Cardinal Maida is still Archbishop of Detroit until January 28, 2009.
"Vigneron, 60, will leave the Diocese of Oakland, in California, where he had been bishop since 2003, and be installed as archbishop on Jan. 28 at Detroit's Blessed Sacrament Cathedral."[1]
I have reverted the last few edits to reflect the current status, but things should be updated again after January 28. — MrDolomite • Talk 18:55, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Technically, Cardinal Maida is no longer the Archbishop of Detroit - his resignation (retirement) was accepted on 5 January. He remains as the Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese until the installation which is scheduled for 28 January.--Dcheney (talk) 13:26, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update, I found a ref for that and will add it to the article. — MrDolomite • Talk 18:45, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
