Is it Aryan / Vedic?[edit]

Vedic culture not derived from Persian culture[edit]

On this page it is indicated that Vedic literature was inspired by Persian literature however it is a well established fact that both Indo-Aryan and Iranian cultures are off shoots of a Proto-Indo-Iranian culture. Indo-Iranians are believed to have migrated from somewhere north of Caspian sea, from where they moved to Iran and India thus creating Iranian and Indo-Aryan as two separate cultures. This explains why both Ancient Iranian and Vedic share lot of similarities in literature and mythologies.

Therefore it would be wrong to say vedic literature was inspired by persian literature. We can only say that both literature derive inspiration from Proto-Indo-Iranian people.

Also, I think for a encyclopaedic content, on origin of Aditi, it is not wise to take reference from a baby names website. I propose we delete the line "The name originally came from Iran, as did the godess, and became known in India from the seventeenth century BCE" and just say for origin of the name please see section origin above.

Phoenix vahana?[edit]

I found a single not entirely reliable source that states that the vahana (mount) of Aditi is a phoenix. While it is not impossible that Aditi is described to have a mount that fits the description of a phoenix in the Vedas, a direct source would be very helpful to add should someone find it. Thanks.
