Start date of SCC chairmanship

[edit]

The infobox gives 3rd of July as the date of him assuming SCC chairmanship yet the term of previous chairman ended on 30th of June (according to references) or 1st of July (according to Wiki article about El-Beheiry). I guess this is a mistake and should be corrected to 1st of July. Kelner (talk) 09:40, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maher El-Beheiry

[edit]

Given that Mansour appears now to be the acting president, what post does Maher El-Beheiry now hold, if any? -- The Anome (talk) 20:29, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Head of state from July 2013

[edit]

I am not pro- or anti- any side in the Egyptian struggle but in light of Morsi's democratic appointment and his ousting resulting from a coup, the status of President is disputed and the Egypt article currently reflects this. Is it not right at this stage to refer to Mansour as the de-facto President? I'd like to add it but don't want it deleted straight after by someone who knows better. The Big Hoof! "is" or "will be" president?

[edit]

The military has declared him interim president, yet he's not yet sworn in - so is he yet or is he not president? -- megA (talk) 21:19, 3 July 2013 (UTC) [reply]

I've added de-facto for reasons such as that. The Big Hoof! (talk) 23:39, 3 July 2013 (UTC) Struck out sock. bobrayner (talk) 05:08, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

He is non-Muslim(i.e. christian)

[edit]

There is no reference to prove that he is a Muslim or his religion is Islam

His middle name is Mahmoud, which is pure Muslim name

The Personal image

[edit]

It can be used from The Arabic Wiki page. please check this video for the oath https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR1Alrye9ms Amr.eladawy (talk)

That's a screencapture from an Al-Jazeera broadcast. And therefore most probably copyrighted.  Yinta 13:09, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The image I am referring to is from the Arabi version of the page. The AlJazerra screen capture is jut to prove that it is his image. Anyway I see the image I already put before on the page now.
It's been deleted.  Yinta 22:33, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Religion: Islam Christian Sunni Islam Coptic

[edit]

To the editors who keep adding their version of Mansour's religion: please provide a reliable source before adding his religion to the info box again. WP:BLP and all that. Thanks,  Yinta 13:05, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of source you need? the guy middle name is Mahmoud, which is an Islamic name. No doubt about that.Amr.eladawy (talk)
Please read WP:SOURCE. A middle name isn't proof of anything. A friend of mine's middle name is Christian. He's an atheist.  Yinta 21:49, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In Egypt it is officially acknowledged of Two religions (Islam, Christianity) the personal believes are out of the scope neither here. So the guy official religion is Islam (as should be mentioned in the National Identification Card), regardless he believes in Allah or not. A lot of my friends named Mohammed and ID card says that they are Muslims. Still they don't believe in God. Yet in all official papers they have to state that they are Muslims. This is pure Egyptian matter ( I am not sure if you could understand this or not) Amr.eladawy (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:33, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
He's Muslim... I can't believe this needed discussion. If he was christian don't you think the world's media would pay attention and have articles about the fact that for the first time ever (as far as I know) a christian becomes the president of Egypt?--Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 18:15, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Useful References

[edit]

I'll add some references here of information that isn't in the article yet. If anyone finds references but can't edit the article right now to add the info please add the reference here as well. Please if you do add that information strike it out.--Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 11:47, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
