La Fayette or Noailles?

born a Noailles, why is she called A.d.La Fayette..

none of any of the other French noble ladies who married into other noble families have there husbands name..not even royalty doo..

ok LouisPhilippeCharles, i changed your marchioness to marquise, i hope you'll agree french title is better
you have a good point that her family was more illustrious than his, i tended to follow the nomenclature of her authorized biographer Andre Maurois The Life Of The Marquise de La Fayette
in the olden days, women took the names of their husbands, so her source letters are signed Mme de la Fayette, or Adrienne. Pohick2 (talk) 00:19, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

clean-up of citations

I have just cleaned up the citations (diff)

This proved to be quite difficult for some citations because the author of the citation is cited in more than one article. However I was able to use the information from an edit made on 6 January 2009 to gather all the information I needed. If anyone wants to check the citations in future they should be able to reconstruct the history of the citations from these two edits.
