Question: do you not employ cross-references in the Wiki system? I agree that the AEW Nimrod (as we always called it when I was flying it) may be part of the overall Nimrod entry, but it is buried in there and a short cross-reference would be useful, would it not?

On the main Nimrod article, as you know, we disagree on the title "Hawker Siddeley Nimrod" but I can say that in normal speech it was never called that anyway even when it was HS and not BAES, a bit of a mouthful. The original Comet design was De Havilland anyway and the Nimrods were built at the Avro factory at Woodford, near Manchester. The comparison with the Supermarine Spitfire and Douglas DC3 is not valid because they were out of production a long time ago and so retain their original well-known names.

Anyway, never mind these quibbles, Wiki is a great idea!

I have created a new re-direct page AEW Nimrod which points at the main Nimrod article. Still suggest that this article is deleted. MilborneOne 19:19, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
