@Qaqaamba: Where in any of these sources does it state that "there is a very strong link between Afro soul and other genres like afro jazz, afro house, afro tech, amapiano, afrobeats and gqom"? You love adding anything you want to add to the pages you edit, don't you? I'm still waiting for you to address my comments at Talk: Afro fusion. I will be restoring my edits to the page If you do not provide credible sources to support your edits.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:41, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Versace1608
  1. I didn't include the exact sentence or structure, rather, I expanded on it by providing additional examples across various genres.
  2. "Afro-soul is a music genre that has African characteristics of soul music", basically, WP:MNA , African "soul music".
  3. Additionally, "link between" definition: [1], which in the case of WP:MNA would indicate " predominate African soul singers" who use melismas and vibrato, soul music techniques / vocals "over" other African genres or inversely. Examples, Zahara - [2] [3] [4], afro house, in the case of soulful house which derives from soul music - [5] [6] [7], afro tech - [8][9], amapiano -[10][11], afrobeats -[12], [13], gqom - [14], afro jazz - [15] , afrobeat - [16]
  4. Perhaps you could enhance the sentence to ensure better reader understanding, as it seems your interpretation was off, suggesting potential confusion for readers or other readers, too.
  5. I don't think afropop as a derivative form is logical, for example soul music emerged in the late 1950s/ 1960s, in the case of WP:MNA , afro-soul would've emerged thereafter additionally even if hypothetically speaking prior to (precursor) , it's still illogical that all of 54 of Africa's countries, African popular music(Afropop) derived solely from what is implied, afro-soul. I reckon the citation as well as input could be entirely omitted or changed to according to whom?, instead.
  6. Additionally, here are a few sources I managed to source in regards to "Nigeria local scene", I hope they prove useful  ; [17], ISBN 9781317173892 p. 55.

@Qaqaamba: The fact of the matter is that none of sources cited in the article state that Afro soul has a "very strong link" with the aforementioned genres. You were not the one who wrote the sentence but you certainly did not object to it. As a matter of fact, you added Afro house to the sentence and provided a source that doesn't state that Afro-soul has a strong link to Afro house. Where in the source does it say this? I added citation needed templates to the infobox and removed the sentence from the lede. It's good that you did not attempt to restore the sentence or remove the citation needed templates.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 13:12, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
