Where did this information come from?[edit]

This article is unsourced. Although my recollection of many of Tolkien's backstories is spotty and I can't locate many of my books, I'm pretty sure that it's incorrect that the fortress was ever called "Aglarond". This is simply Sindarin for "Glittering Caves", and would be an odd name for a tower, to say the least. TCC (talk) (contribs) 01:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, found it. (Appendix to "The Battle of the Fords of Isen" in Unfinished Tales.) Ya know, I really think that anyone looking for Aglarond will be expecting to find something about the caves. Aglarond as the name of the fortress is really obscure. Since Hornburg is a real place, I'm going to propose that the entire subject be merged under Helm's Deep where the various features of the place can be discussed in relation to each other. I don't know that there's really enough information on them to justify an individual article on each. TCC (talk) (contribs) 22:21, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seems reasonable to me. Redirect the various names to the most commonly used. --CBDunkerson 23:42, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
