This page has an external link to an online store. Is that allowed???—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.146.86.131 (talk) SWTwo6: As I understand, it is allowed, although not recommended: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links#Links_normally_to_be_avoided The link is certainly relevant.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by SWTwo6 (talkcontribs).

I've replaced the store link with one to Wikimedia Commons. This gives images of the instrument without the commercial aspect. Aleta 18:24, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== Merge with Gankoqui == For more about double 'gongs' (bells)refer to page 135 of "The Phantom Voyagers" by Robert Dick-Read,or pages 148-150 in "Sanamu" by the same author, where you will find descriptions of an 11-bell orchestra with rattles and drums in Bamumbu, Cameroons. (From Robert Dick-Read)

According to this, the Gankoqui and the Agogô are essentially the same instrument. As such, I suggest that their articles be merged. Neelix (talk) 14:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- no objections here--204.78.0.199 (talk) 16:48, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't agree with this- many instruments have travelled from Africa and have evolved or been modified in new countries... Keping a link between the two pages is obviously sensible, but to delete the gankogui article altogether seems wrong... Boyderlam (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agogo is a modern term for the gankoqui. Agogo is in general usage in S America referring to the industrially produced double bell. Gankoqui is in general use for the Traditional hand made African bell. Different things, different countries, different uses different playing style. I say draw the links but don't merge (Freddythehat (talk) 21:11, 18 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]

The "USES" section seems to be copied from Quora. I searched some of the exact text on Google which took me to https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-play-a-cowbell-instrument. I couldn't find it on the website though... LOOKSQUARE (👤️·🗨️) talk 17:50, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
