Current name of this species

[edit]

Currently this endemic to New Zealand moth species appears to be known as Agriophara colligatella. This article name was changed in 2017 to Atomotricha colligatella apparently to bring it in line with the LepIndex but unfortunately other than citing this index, which is known to be out of date and to contain errors, this article doesn't have any other citations that support this name change. I've searched but have been unable to find any scientific literature supporting the statement that Atomotricha colligatella is the current name of this species rather than Agriophara colligatella. Some of most recent taxonomic literature I've managed to find on this species was published in 2000 and 2010 see Brian H. Patrick (December 2000). Lepidoptera of small-leaved divaricating Olearia in New Zealand and their conservation priority (PDF). Vol. 168. Wellington: Department of Conservation. pp. 1–26. ISBN 0-478-22015-4. ISSN 1173-2946. OCLC 48661253. OL 31493622M. Wikidata Q63012786. {{cite book}}: |journal= ignored (help) as well as Gordon, Dennis P., ed. (2010). New Zealand inventory of biodiversity: Kingdom animalia: chaetognatha, ecdysozoa, ichnofossils. Vol. 2. ISBN 978-1-877257-93-3. OCLC 973607714. OL 25288394M. Wikidata Q45922947., both of which refer to this species as Agriophara colligatella. Agriophara colligatella is the current scientific name used by the New Zealand Arthropod Collection as well as Te Papa, Auckland Museum, and iNaturalist. As I've been unable to find any published scientific literature supporting Atomotricha colligatella other than LepIndex, unless other editors object, I'm intending to move this species name back to Agriophara colligatella. - Ambrosia10 (talk) 17:55, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
