2 Chronicles 22 indicates that Ahaziah was 42 when he gained the throne, but the preceding chapter notes that his father and predecessor Jehoram became king at age 32 and reigned for eight years (thus dying at age 40). This would make Ahaziah two years older than his father. Kings has Ahaziah becoming king at age 20, and LXX (either in Kings or Chronicles) has him 22. One commentator (possibly the Anchor Bible) posits that the Masoretic editor of Chronicles combined (added) the two traditions of Ahaziah's age. (This discrepancy is reported as referring to Ahaziah of Israel, on the page fo that name.)Opaanderson 18:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Why would the same person, for the same text, without any notice, use two different calendars?
[edit]This whole idea seems moronic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:AB88:370C:1480:354A:AA5E:5B12:AF43 (talk) 10:31, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
