In 2015 AirPair dissolved itself in the US. All 5 previous co-founders have left the startup citing poor leadership as their primary reason for departure as well as disputes with leadership (not involving the board) and their rightful equity ownership being denied by the CEO. Most previous co-founders have not sought legal action, as the value of their equity, in light of the inability for leadership to retain and incentivize employees is negligible. A few co-founders are exploring legal options.

While AirPair had a solid foundation of concept, validity shown by the success of billion dollar companies like Odesk and Elance, it was unable to raise a Series A round due to lack of confidence in leadership and the uncapped sub 25% nature of the seed round.

Out of business?[edit]

The website has been down for weeks and the Twitter account has been inactive for a while. Perhaps the article about them needs to be updated to explain this. 169.1.170.187 (talk) 13:46, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
