Difference between "OF(D)" and "Student Officer"[edit]

Is there really a difference? According to the insignia table Air Forces seem to have either one or the other, not both. This makes me think that the distinction is a "fiction" and that in reality they are equivalent. It is not explained in the article. Roger (talk) 13:29, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
