[edit]

I have been observing the educational activities that are done by Akola Education Society, Akola; since last 40 years. It is one of the oldest educational society in our Akola city. The names of the persons that are included in the history of the society, are all dead now. But when they were alive, late back during 1927, their work, devotion and sacrifice towards the development of the society is incomparable.
So in the honor of those dead persons, who really devoted the whole of their life for the society, must have atleast one mentioning of their names on WIKIPEDIA. THAT WILL PERHAPS HELP TO REST THEIR SOULS IN PEACE.

Wikipedia does not exist to help the souls of the deceased rest in peace, no matter how beautiful their intentions and ambitions were. Wikipedia only covers subject that are verifiably notable. Are there any reliable sources that prove that this organisation is notable? 94.212.31.237 (talk) 15:47, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since the establishment of this society here, in Akola city, its intentions were to provide best possible education to all. For the reliable sources please visit the Indian Government gazette and search for the term NEW ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL, AKOLA... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Prof. D. S. Some of the pages are uploaded, since its existence on World Wide Web itself is new.[reply]

I contest the speedy deletion. Allow Prof. Vidyasagar to develop this article, then if you still feel it does not belong on wikipedia, list it for normal deletion process. Omegastar (talk) 12:02, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The person who created this article should be given more time to expand it as it is clearly notable as per the link given though an under construction template can be placed --NotedGrant Talk 12:04, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The link only proves that this society exists, which was never in doubt in the first place. How does it prove the notability of the subject? 94.212.31.237 (talk) 16:27, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
you can go for an Afd (If that pleases you) but the link given by the person who started this article proves the existance of this organisation this organisation was mentioned in the governments gazette which makes the article a bit more notable .you cannot find loads of references for eastern (refers to places where english is not the first language) articles in english though sources may be available in other languages --NotedGrant Talk 18:06, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as you said that link "proves the existance of this organisation". But that was never in doubt, and it doesn't matter. We don't cover all existing organizations, we only cover the notable ones. And despite all this discussion, I haven't seen anything in any language that might make this society notable. And keep in mind that English is an official language in India and that India is in 4th place in the list of countries by number of Internet users, ahead of countries like Brazil, Germany and the UK. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 10:41, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
