- Actually name Al-Ashraf Khalil was better for this article as that is the name used by historians and as 'Khalil' is a general name like ali, ahmad etc... The article in general is accurate though it needs modification and additinal information as well as references specially about the conflict between Turkish Mamluks and Circassians Mamluks and case of Ibn al-Salus. I will try to fix this article and add references. Samsam22 (talk) 23:04, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I was considering the same thing, actually. I'll move it. Adam Bishop (talk) 07:29, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

"Portrait" in lead
[edit]The "portrait" that was in the lead is unsourced; or, at any rate, the file description claims it is the work of the uploader ("Omar Walid Mohammed Reda"). This information is potentially false, if the image was actually created by someone else or if it has any historical import; or it means that it's a completely made-up and recent personal painting by a random person, in which case it is of no encyclopedic value here. Unless someone can clarify the source of the portrait, it shouldn't be on Wikipedia. A common choice for the lead image of an unportrayed ruler on Wikipedia is to include an image of his coinage, and this is what was present before the portrait was added by an IP in this edit. There aren't many images to choose from, so I've added this one; it's larger than the alternative (this), but either would do. R Prazeres (talk) 04:44, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
