I have requested page protection for this article due to repeated insertion of what appears to be Arabic text into an article in the en namespace. Alan (talk) 21:45, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Octopus[edit]

Why does it say that they had a goalkeeper octopus in the second paragraph — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.234.198.46 (talk) 12:05, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because at the time, our guard (Muhammad Al-Deayea) was nicknamed "The Octopus". 2001:16A4:216:578C:9D60:E8C2:6D06:9FA1 (talk) 01:25, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

The wording in this article seems rather non-NPOV to me. A lot of buzzwords and peacocking Tagged as such. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RegistryKey (talkcontribs) 20:37, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Al-Hilal FCAl Hilal SFC – The following is the official name of the club (Al Hilal Saudi Football Club --> Al Hilal SFC), as per the AFC (see 1 and 2). No "-" is present between "Al" and "Hilal", and the "S" is present in the acronym. Nehme1499 (talk) 14:44, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Manager[edit]

Frank Lampard it isn't the manager. He's in Chelsea.

Razvan Lucescu is the manager of Al-Hilal. Bmgsantos (talk) 18:47, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Al Hilal SCAl Hilal SFC – Club is listed as Al Hilal SFC on AFC's website and by FIFA. The club's official twitter handle is Al Hilal FC. So I don't see where "SC" came from Tshak13 (talk) 11:58, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support as this was the result of the previous RM above, which was stable. The bold move made in the past few days needs more support than an edit summary of "Official name", and the edits leading up to it and subsequent edits have not added any references that support the claim, either. -2pou (talk) 02:43, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, it's Al Hilal Saudi Football Club, definitely not a sports club to use "SC".Jõsé hola
  • Support I assume there was some sort of controversial move here as it was moved to SFC awhile back? SportingFlyer T·C 16:21, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PIF takeover not mentioned?[edit]

Pretty huge and relevant event in the context of today's news. The Saudi government owns the club, and has for the better part of a few months. 2601:204:C001:F3D0:6888:7061:A4A2:40CA (talk) 16:03, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

History needs major rewrite[edit]

The History section needs a major rewrite. It's full of bad grammar (especially missing capitalisation) and horribly POV sentences ("The Australian club won 1–0 on aggregate with some very questionable refereeing decisions by Yuichi Nishimura (what the fans claim).", "a new dawn of success to the riyadh giants").

And the sourcing, god, the sourcing. I don't feel the need to point out examples because, well, read it. It's jam-packed. Couruu (talk) 11:01, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
