(No subject)[edit]

I'm trying to write an article about Alan Hansen in Swedish, based on this article and The little book of Liverpool (ISBN 1-905009-26-7). Now I'm in a bit of trouble because the book says that he retired 1990, while this article says 1991. Does anyone know which year is the right one? Scar[edit]

Is it worth making a brief mention of that huge scar he has on his forehead, which I believe he acquired by falling through a window as a child.....? ChrisTheDude 12:45, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He wa raised on a diet of sport? this article is terrible at best...it need a serious overhaul.

"Hansen's grandfather was Danish, and Hansen was raised on a diet of sport." has to be the most fantastically random sentence ever. - E 27.06.08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.66.23 (talk) 04:28, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At the start of the article it says he got the scar by running into a door when late for a vollyball match and at the end it says he got it at the party, both can't be right!

who wrote this article as its contradictory and shit! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kingrich1986 (talkcontribs) 12:11, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most decorated British footballer?[edit]

I'm not sure whether to add that Hansen has won more than any other British player, but the only people who come close are Dalglish and Giggs I think. Worthy of a mention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.35.50 (talk) 15:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph[edit]

Is that really Alan Hansen? If it is, well certainly a more up to date photograph would be a good idea. Millbanks (talk) 19:16, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Factually incorrect.[edit]

The article states:

Hansen is also infamous for the phrase "you'll never win anything with kids" having made the remark following Manchester United's 3–1 defeat to Aston Villa on the opening day of the 1995–96 Premier League season. After selling high profile players like Ince, Hughes and Kanchelskis in the summer of 1995, United had introduced several youth team players including Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Gary Neville into the first team, yet went on to win a league and cup double later that season.

This is completely incorrect, Giggs made his debut for Manchester United in 1991, Beckham in 1993 (in the 1995 season he was actually on loan to Preston North End) and Neville in 1993 also. The quote about "you'll never win anything with kids" was directed at a number of other teams and has been proven to be correct on a number of occasions. The implication that Giggs, Beckham and Neville were all kids in the 1995/96 season is also nonsense, Giggs was 24/25, Beckham 22/23 and Neville also 22/23. The "kids" quote was directed at teams using players of 17, 18 and 19 years old. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.241.42.202 (talk) 19:26, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
