User:68.174.74.143 removing lead and references tag[edit]

User 68.174.74.143 has twice removed the (newly added & brief) lead and the 'references' tag, the first time adding in the edit summary "The most recent edits are misleading, malicious in intent." and, in the second "Information recently added is redundant. All relevant sources and references are in the links at the bottom of the pagef for research.". My response to this is 1) The lede is always redundant - it merely summarizes the article and the subject's main claims to notability. 2) External links are not satisfactory references - see WP:SOURCE. I did warn the user after the first edit, I will revert again and appeal to him/her to respond here. Wwwhatsup (talk) 20:51, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Vanwalker has just repeated 68.174.74.143's edits. One has to assume they are the same editor. I have upped the 'references' tag to 'unreferenced' since there is not one ref in the article, and again replaced the lead. I have left a warning on Vanwalker's page that he/she is in danger of violating WP:3RR. Wwwhatsup (talk) 05:49, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've added appropriate tags. Inline sources are preferred for biographical articles. It's not up to the reader to go wading through a list of sources at the bottom to verify facts and this is even more so in a biography. If they're removed before this is fixed, I'll just semi-protect the article and block any registered user who removes them. Rodhullandemu 20:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good. Now maybe we can get down to work! Wwwhatsup (talk) 23:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Rather than hack up the article I propose to gather what third party refs we can muster here, and then work them in once we see what we have. Wwwhatsup (talk) 23:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
