edits to candidate professions
[edit]I have been asked by the Alberta Party to monitor the 2012 candidate page and correct any inconsistencies with candidate information during the 2012 General Election period in Alberta. I appreciate the edits for excessive capitalization, however some candidates professions were reverted to incorrect or outdated information. This has since been corrected. If you have any questions please let me know -

I am editing to maintain accurate information about candidates in a General Election, inaccurate information could affect the result of the election. Lesoteric (talk) 04:47, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- No where on http://www.albertaparty.ca/ellen_phillips_calgary_bow, (the reference) does it say Phillips is currently a student. 117Avenue (talk) 04:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- it also does not state that she is currently a stampede worker - in addition the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest indicates that it would be spam to link back to the Alberta Party page in this case. I will settle for leaving her occupation blank as a compromise if you can agree to that.Lesoteric (talk) 04:59, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- You don't think "during her four years of employment at the Calgary Stampede", means she still works there? 117Avenue (talk) 06:22, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- As that festival only runs for a brief period each summer it is inaccurate to indicate that she works there. Lesoteric (talk) 10:40, 07 June 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.148.124.226 (talk)
- The organizers work all year. 117Avenue (talk) 05:59, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- There is no indication that Ms. Phillips was or is an organizer for the Calgary Stampede and in fact it was indicated that she was a part-time worker there. I have updated the reference to a third party (Calgary Herald Newspaper) indicating that she is now a university student. Lesoteric (talk) 22:38, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

edit to page intro
[edit]removed the comment: "With only 38 candidates, it is not possible for the party to win a majority of the 87 electoral districts." as it introduces bias and could affect election results. Also it is inconsistent with other similar pages (they do not list number of candidates / number of electoral districts)
Lesoteric (talk) 14:49, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- The other pages you have compared with this one are running a full slate, this page should mention the numbers 38 and 87. 117Avenue (talk) 01:10, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am editing to maintain accurate information about candidates in a General Election, inaccurate or biased information could affect the result of the election. Listing that there are 38 of 87 candidates is acceptable - indicating that this is inadequate to form government is not - it can be a minority government and listing it the other way is misleading and could bias the election. Lesoteric (talk) 04:55, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- I think it is just stating the facts, I don't see it as bias. 117Avenue (talk) 02:12, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
