Very British?[edit]

It may well be true that optics, etc. are a reflection of the high levels of excise duty imposed on spirits in the UK. In other countries where drink is cheaper, landlords are can afford to be more generous and customers are less worried about receiving short measure. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:38, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

correct spirit measure...[edit]

Changed "is dispensed" to "can be dispensed". If the barman releases the lever before the optic has emptied then a short measure is served. Landlords invest in optics to prevent oversized measures and protect their profit margins, not to ensure the customers get full measures. Bazj (talk) 17:54, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
