Remake

[edit]

I remade the article because I look back and it honestly makes me angry that it was deleted. If you guys insist on redeleting, at least discuss it again. Philmonte101 (talk) 23:00, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The reason that it's notable that I see is that it's a major and well-known death in the history of Boy Scouts. Philmonte101 (talk) 23:14, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And it's not exactly WP:ONEEVENT because his memorial service was attended by 800+ people, including many Boy Scouts, so it had a mark on Boy Scout culture and Philmont culture. It effected a lot of boys' treks, as states in one of the quotes I put in the article about the kid praying for Alden's family. Philmonte101 (talk) 17:23, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And because he is the only person who died at Philmont during this flood which injured many people and deprived them of their camping gear as well, which establishes his notability even more. Philmonte101 (talk) 17:30, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that this article is NOT meant to be a memorial for Alden. All information put in this article is neutral and factual, so if you try to make that argument again, it doesn't really make much sense to do so. I honestly never intended to make this article a memorial page for him anyway or anything of the sort, it is sad that he died, but it is a notable death that affected a lot of lives, as I said above, and it affected an entire organization and camp, even if ever so slightly. There have already been enough memorials for Alden; Wikipedia is not one of those. But his death is still very important as far as the facts go nonetheless. Also, though I was at Philmont during the time of this same flood, and was affected by the flood, this is not a conflict of interest page because I never have even met Alden, and probably not any of his friends or crewmates either. Furthermore, I did not know Alden personally in any way. Philmonte101 (talk) 17:36, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
