Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because Alex Morono satisfies the requisite notability guidelines as established in WP:MMABIO and WP:SIGCOV. Previous discussions regarding the deletion of this page in 2012 rightly concluded that the page should be deleted due to lack of coverage as well as an absence of fights for a top tier MMA organization.

Since that time, however, Alex Morono has been signed by a top tier MMA organization (UFC) and has a televised fight booked with them (Fox Sports 1) during the preliminary fights of UFC 195. No one contests that the UFC is a top tier organization.

Moreover (and lacking anything else), Morono meets the notability threshold due to the sheer volume of independent secondary sources. In the past month alone, Morono has been the subject of significant coverage in several articles. Dozens of articles can be found with a quick Google News search. I list just a few here for ease of reference:

Moreover, multiple other Wikipedia articles mention (and now link to) Alex Morono. To wit:

UFC 195, Kyle Noke, Legacy Fighting Championship, and List_of_current_UFC_fighters

Thanks to everyone for all of the work making Wikipedia (and in particular its MMA coverage) great. I would welcome any input on how to improve the page or to better establish this fighter's notability.
