[edit]

My recent factual edit with sources has been removed by Ian Pitchford with a false claim of vandalism. The edit I added was both NPOV and sourced. I understand the user may have a POV that the JDL is the only possible killer of Alex Odeh. Given the fact there has been no criminal conviction in the case it is possible that there are others such as Hamas who committed the crime. It is not vandalism to present the full issues on this article. I believe it is vandalism to only present one point of view and enforce it.Michaelh613 04:08, 13 August 2006 (UTC)michaelh613[reply]

This was considered the very first act of terrorism in the United States

NPOV- considered by whom? There have been numerous acts of terrorism, bombings, assasinations etc. in American history. Expand on this point or remove it.

Sources JDL

[edit]

"...though the FBI has identified members of the JDL as killing him" The source for this information [1] is hardly reliable and the FBI poster says nothing of the kind. I have removed the statement.--Pecher 23:01, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Many people have claimed that the JDL was behind Odeh's killing, just like many people have claimed that Arafat was behind Munich. This should be noted instead of covered up. Also, a very reliable source says that the original suspects fled to Israel. Yuber(talk) 23:20, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Many people claimed" is not an acceptable standard for Wikipedia, and the sources are far from reliable.--Pecher 08:36, 3 January 2006 (UTC).[reply]
Please discontinue from removing the claims. No-one is saying they're true, but lots of reliable sources have claimed who killed him. Yuber(talk) 11:31, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If there are reliable sources, such as statements from FBI, please present them. So far, you have presented only rumors.--Pecher 12:33, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you see what I'm trying to say here. Many sources, including reliable ones and the ADC itself, have claimed that the original suspects in the case fled to Israel. In addition, Earl Krugel himself gave up the name of another JDL suspect in the Odeh killing two months ago. Do you want me to include more detailed information about the names of the suspects?Yuber(talk) 21:07, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For a person to be called a "suspect" or to say that suspects fled somewhere, we need a statement from FBU to that effect or a source that refers to an FBI statement. It is not sufficient to say that someone suspected that FBI suspected.--Pecher 08:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can you come up with a better source than carolmoore.net please? According to her web site, Ms. Moore is a "30 year activist who has been involved in the radical feminist, anti-nuclear, peace, war tax resistance, libertarian, Green/bioregional, radical decentralist, drug legalization, and new age consciousness movements." These may all be very laudable movements, but I'm concerned that Ms. Moore may have an agenda. We need to avoid that kind of appearance here. Therefore, something more mainstream, like the LA Times, would be better. -- JJay 00:56, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Washington Report on Middle Eastern affairs is not by Ms. Moore. Yuber(talk) 01:14, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I didn't mention the Washington Report. -- JJay 01:30, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"There have been many claims that the JDL was involved in his murder, and indeed Irv Rubin who was later imprisoned for planning to bomb an American mosque publicly stated that Odeh 'got what he deserved'." Statements like "there have been many claims" must be avoided, see WP:AWW. Then, "Irv Rubin who was later imprisoned for planning to bomb an American mosque" - that's a guilt by association fallacy.--Pecher 08:37, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you or do you not agree that there have been reliable sources that have said that Earl Krugel gave up another name of a suspect in the murder? Here is another source from The Jewish Journal. Yuber(talk) 11:26, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that the name of the journal has the word "Jewish" in its title does not make it any more reliable as a source in this case. Nor is Friedman's book. Anything from the FBI?--Pecher 20:39, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All these sources are reliable, and the variety of them further confirms the claims. Here is another one from Al Ahram [2]. Earl Krugel less than 4 months ago released another name to the FBI and the judge admonished him for withholding information according to the ADC [3]. Yuber(talk) 02:10, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is there anything from major newspapers in the United States? -- JJay 04:01, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to add to this discussion that shortly after the Odeh assassination, New Jewish Agenda, a group I worked for, placed a condolence add in the Jewish Journal. Earl Krugel phoned & left a voice msg. calling Odeh "a dead sand nigger" & warned me that my group could suffer the same fate. I called the FBI which listened to, and authenticated that the voice on the tape was Krugel's. This information is documented in my blog:

Klinghoffer connection

[edit]

Should mention that it was speculated at the time that this was some kind of revenge for Leon Klinghoffer (or timed to look like it).... AnonMoos (talk) 01:33, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
