Since he was born in 1909 I highly doubt that Seidel's Name is 'Alex'. Alex is a very informal short form of Alexander in Germany. I never heard of a single person officially christianed 'Alex' during these extremely conservative years of the German Empire. The fact that a US website is given as a source doesn't help the bad feeling I have about this. Nemissimo (talk) 07:13, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The source given is H&K's official website. I think that's pretty authoritative. It doesn't matter if his parents officially named him Alexander, if he was generally known as "Alex". Rather like how (for example) Max Immelmann would presumably have been named Maximillian, but is known exclusively as "Max". 69.73.47.181 (talk) 21:12, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
