Dimensions[edit]

Enviro 401/2/3[edit]

Enviro400H City[edit]

Recently Route One has reported that HCT Group has ordered 21 of the Enviro400H City for London Buses Route 26. London Bus Routes (unofficial) website has reported that route 26 is expecting to have the Enviro400H City buses on route 26 by 25th June 2016. I do not know if the website counts as an official source but when I try to add it in, another user undo it.

Here's the original text with citation. HCT Group orders 21 of the Enviro400H City for their route 26 contract which is expecting to enter service on 25th June 2016.[1]

Scania N250UD[edit]

The only known Scania Euro6 diesel version available with Enviro 400MMC body is the N250UD, availability for this body on N230UD is never heard of. This change was reverted even a proper source had been provided.

Comment - I've got the page protected for an entire week, Thank you 219.79.239.27 for starting a discussion, 80.192.153.90 & 182.239.101.213 - Could you both have a discussion here inregards to the whole Scania thing, Also once the protection's up if any of you revert each other I'll have you all blocked, and last but not least I have no opinion on the matter - I simply had enough of everyone reverting each other, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 04:38, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That was first introduced by Buttons0603 on 13 January 2016 (UTC), in which "N230UD" may be unintentional. 182.239.101.213 did only fixed some improper links, 80.192.153.90 had removed the description about the Scania N280UD/Enviro400 MMC (a prototype had already been built at that moment) but generally agree with the N230UD/N250UD fact. I don't think there is any disagreement between the IP users.

The various N models were changed by various IPs, I admit I never spotted the source but either way the 2 changes above that should be sourced, It'd gone from 230 to 250 to 230 to N-Series to N ......, If you have a source for the "correct" one then source it, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 15:27, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - apologies, I think me initially putting N230UD was a typographical error when I overhauled the page a few months ago. The original body is available on the N230UD while the MMC is available on the N250UD, not N230UD, which I think it what you were trying to say. Apologies for any confusion. Just to add – there are numerous variations of the Scania N-series chassis; these are all largely identical to each other, the only real difference being that they are fitted with different engines. The number in the chassis type code refers to the horsepower of the engine, so 230hp for N230UD, and so on. Given how similar these chassis actually are it may be more beneficial just to say “Scania N-series” in the lead and the infobox, and only refer to N230/250/260/270/280UD in the relevant sections of the article. Most first generation (referring to the body) Scania Enviro400s were built upon N230UD chassis; additionally, two first generation Scania Enviro400s – CY12EMS and CX14EMS of Express Motors, Porthmadog[1] – were built upon N280UD chassis. As for the MMCs, all Scania MMCs have so far been built upon N250UD chassis, with the gas-powered examples for Reading Buses currently in development expected to be on updated N280UD chassis. As far as I’m aware there’s never been an N260UD and N270UD Enviro400 despite Scania offering these varieties of the N-series chassis. Buttons0603 (talk) 20:15, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Top speed electronically limited to 62mph[edit]

"Like all British buses" isn't true at all - I've been in an Enviro300 doing 66mph on a motorway, some buses have lower maximum geared speeds like 49mph or 59mph, and lower top speed limiters like 40mph or 45mph can be installed. 2A00:23EE:10A0:64D8:AC65:A0D:8C0F:C0CC (talk) 14:54, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As an addendum, looking through both the brochure and specification info, I can find nothing on the E400's speed limit - must've been another unsourced enthusiast addition.
To be honest, speed doesn't seem overly significant for the page. After all, its hardly like they'll be topping the max speed limit most of the time.
