Unfortunately this page has been created with a typographical error in its title: it is Macara not MacAra. Presumably changing this will be a bit of a fiddle involving the creating of a "points here" page, a distraction which I am presently unwilling to submit myself too. But it's wrong nevertheless, as even the majority of the references at the foot of the page currently testify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LaFolleCycliste (talkcontribs) 05:00, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Changed his father’s & grandfather to being Church of Scotland Ministers. It matches the Guardian article and reality. “Presbyterian” could mean Church of Scotland; United Free Church of Scotland; Free Church of Scotland or any other groupings! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.124.181.2 (talk) 03:03, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Who was the original author of this article? The comment “ Growing up he witnessed the public health effects of the slums in Glasgow as well as the health problems of the dockers and miners.” does not make sense! I am originally from Irvine. “Growing up” suggests that during his childhood studying at Irvine Royal Academy he was regularly making a trip up to Glasgow and back. It is around an hour each way!

If you follow the link it suggests that the first hand witnessing might have occurred at a post 18 stage of learning. I have deleted this as I doubt the “firsthand witness” occurred during his childhood. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.124.181.2 (talk) 03:18, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
