Aikhenvald's resignation from La Trobe

Corroboration of the circumstances under which Professor Aikhenvald was forced to resign from her position at the RCLT and La Trobe University can be found among any of the current members of RCLT, it current director Randy LaPolla, or any one of many Australian linguists living both in Australia and abroad, as well as recent visiting professors at RCLT, e.g. M. Shibatani, A. Bugaeva, Y. Matras; or recent postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, such as R. Beam, D.Fleck, R. Hanson, and others. Bluerambler (talk) 11:51, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Thats not good enough unless you can refer to a published source.·Maunus·ƛ· 14:43, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

What utter nonsense! How do you know that she's Jewish? There is no published source that verifies it .. And anyway, does that mean that Wikipedia should wait for several years until something appears in print until it can document it? The burden of proof is on you: find me one person at La Trobe who will confirm that she is still there. The webpage is out of date, but if you're wondering, then contact the present director and ask. The joke will be on you. Bluerambler (talk) 16:09, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Wrong, the burden of proof is on you. You are the one trying to include controversial unsourced information. You should really care to investigate wikipedias core policies before telling other editors what to do. And no, it doesn't have to be in print although that is preferable by far. It could be a reliable internet source. Anyway, wikipedia does not publish news that are not verifiable by references to reliable sources, if no reliable sources exist we wait. It is in the public interest that anonymous editors cannot add unverified posibbly defamatory information about living persons. Please understand this and desist from including the information untill such a time that you can corroborate it with sources that are acceptable under wikipedias policies. And by the way, the article doesn't say anything about her being jewish. ·Maunus·ƛ· 17:42, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

This is the content of an email circular sent to all RCLT staff in early December by the RCLT's Executive Officer:

sorry. It is not good enough. This is private correspondence - not a reliable source. Please take the time to read and understand wikipedias verifiability policy before adding more content.·Maunus·ƛ· 12:05, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
