"Wolf skins"?[edit]

Hi, Alfie was one leader of the "vårbelger". The term (lit. "spring pelt") indicates an animal skin prepared in spring, when they were of poor quality, and was used to disparage Skule's menn on account of their poor dress: https://snl.no/vårbelger.
