Colorado or colorado?[edit]

Alfaroa manningii is a tropical tree with red-brown bark and pink heartwood. It has nothing to do with the state of Colorado in the United States of America. I have found the name "gavilán colorado" for Alfaroa costaricensis in a Spanish text, without the capitalization. Therefore, I conclude that the Spanish word "colorado" in the Spanish common name should not be capitalized, despite what I learned in elementary school here in the USA.
