Alkan telecom Company Profile Over the last six years, Alkan Holding, a well respected $100 million Egyptian business conglomerate, has built up significant interests in the telecom sector ranging from wire and wireless services to software. Alkan Telecom was formed in Egypt in 1996 to pursue opportunities in the Egyptian VSAT market, with a particular focus on value added and E-learning solutions. Since 1996, Alkan Telecom has grown steadily, building a customer base of more than 240 customers for its solutions.

In 2001, encouraged by the potential of the deregulation of the Telecom market opportunities in the region, Alkan Telecom decided to pursue a more aggressive expansion strategy, appointing an experienced and credible executive management team to unleash the potential of Alkan Telecom business. Corresponding with the placement of the executive management team, Alkan Telecom had expand its operation by opening up an office in Iraq with another office in Libya will follow this year.

Alkan Telecom has already made and continues to make significant investments in growing the business. The company's head office is currently located in Cairo, Egypt. All operations, from administration to sales, take place at this location, in addition to the VSAT network operations center and teleport located in Maadi ground earth station.
