Never play an All Pay auction[edit]

Shouldn't there be something said about the only way to win an all pay auction is not to play, for example the dollar auction? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.255.83.121 (talk) 06:13, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, because it's not true. (If you and I are in a dollar auction and I know that your strategy is not to bid, then it's optimal for me to bid; I'll receive the prize for a pittance.) A more correct warning would be, don't participate in an all-pay auction without taking into account that it is an all-pay auction -- but that's self-evident, isn't it?
