GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
General
  • Image is good. That is really interesting that Bowman's trading cards fell into PD.
  • References are good, spotcheck reveals they support their statements; no issues with close paraphrasing
Lead
  • Seems odd that being a member of a World Series champion is not listed in the lead
Minor leagues
  • "where he spent the season as the team's second baseman and played with future teammate Vic Raschi." - Odd to state that he was playing with a future teammate since the two were obviously also current teammates. Perhaps specify future major league teammate?
Major leagues
  • We are told that Clark played in the 1947 World Series, but we aren't told the result of the series.
  • Likewise, we're informed of the 1948 tiebreaker, but the result is only implied, and again, being on the 1948 World Series champ is not noted.
Overall

Obviously, only a very minor concern about specifically noting he was on WS winning teams. I just want to get your thought on this before passing the article. Regards, Resolute 23:10, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Issues fixed, added WS notes where needed. Indeed, once we found out Bowman fell into PD it's helped our 40s-50s articles out tremendously. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:39, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, that'll do 'er. I'm now satisfied to pass this. Always a fan of seeing a good article on a journeyman player. Regards, Resolute 22:54, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
