History[edit]

Hi Vin09,

As part of cleanup, I saw you removed lot of history and other topics from Allur. I agree that it got some spam and commercial information like names of private schools lately. I am from that place and most of the original and authentic information including basic geography was put by me. I only put history available in Nellore Gazhettes from British times. I also removed information like common hindu festivals that are common to all such places. Please see my latest edits.

@Vin09:, thanks for doing more edits. Please let me know when you want further discussions. Your history section with references is a great start.
  • Some feedback is here.
    • "Allur was an important place in the Nellore district and also for the Baptist Missions, which had its outstations at the place." - Looks correct but may be better to clarify importance like "an important revenue generating place".
    • "There were only pial elementary schools that teach Telugu reading..." got repeated two times.
    • When we are giving references, when do we need to give? For each paragraph or for each section or for sentence introducing new facts ?
    • Allur and Allurpet are twin villages. They are located like Hyderabad and Secundarbad. They are separated by a small canal. Do you prefer to enter this fact in geography section. This may be better instead of creating new page for Allurpet. Even many residents do not know they are two different villages in administration records. Even the history is mixed. For example baptist mission and dora bunglaw are in Allur pet but boarding school and police station are in Allur.

For whatever sentences are mentioned in the page it should have references. It can be a sentence or a para based on the availability of ref. All the sentences should be verifiable in the ref. Unverified sentences should be removed. I've added sentences based on the page numbers which I provided. You can improve them.--Vin09(talk) 04:24, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Allur Mandal[edit]

@Vin09:, I am thinking of creating new page for Allur Mandal. What is the way people add for other Mandals. Add in the same page or Add new page.

New page. Consider taking the help of Singarayakonda mandal.--Vin09(talk) 08:43, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Vin09: Thanks for creating structure for the page. I created Mandal page Allur Mandal, Nellore. However I did not follow small letters for Mandal. Is there style guide? Do we need to move ? Can you please help me to move? mlpkr (talk) 18:39, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mouni999:, Vin09 and I have been cleaning the page - follow wikipedia standard templates and structure, creating separate Mandal page, provide references for all facts, have only unique and important information, exclude commercial and recent news, exclude common information like dressing (as that is common for all villages of state). Let us coordinate in that way. By the way lot of information you brought in recent edits was written by me some seven years ago and I have now more authentic and unique information from research and there is no need of that old vague and general information. mlpkr (talk) 18:39, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mlpkr: Sure go ahead. But who is this Mouni999 you have mentioned?
@Vin09: I do not know him. He reverted your latest change. I kind of reshuffled bit after his changes. I did not get what is the convention "Allur mandal, Nellore" vs. "Allur Mandal, Nellore" - does it matter ? mlpkr (talk) 17:22, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mlpkr: ok. Yes, they matter per naming conventions of wiki. You can check district pages for that.--Vin09(talk) 07:54, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AllurAllur, Nellore district – There are at least ten Allur/Alluru villages and towns in India. We need to disambiguate at Allur page. mlpkr (talk) 21:15, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
